Founded in 1985 as one of Alabama’s first hunting preserves, Dell and Carolyn Hill could never have imagined how the next 40 years would unfold. Their vision was simple yet ambitious—to transform a family farm, already rich in Southern heritage, into a thriving, yet relationally-authentic, small business. Starting any business is challenging, but pioneering a new industry presented an even greater test. Dell, an avid outdoorsman, foresaw a shift in the hunting world forward and recognized Selwood’s place in that world — as a premier destination for both recreation and wildlife conservation.
Through years of unwavering dedication and a commitment to excellence, Selwood has become synonymous with quality, culture, and hospitality. We take pride in continuously refining our offerings, ensuring that both returning guests and first-time visitors experience the best we have to offer.
